Salary:

Job Purpose:

The primary goal of a Dental Lab Manager, DLM as identified in this job description will be to coordinate all dental lab activities and ensure program and system for the dental lab is functioning at optimum capacity.

Duties:

• Administer daily activity of the dental lab with the guidance of the Director of Dental.
• Supervisors staff and evaluates service delivery to ensure patients are receiving the best quality care.
• Monitors service delivery for quality and timeliness.
• Maintain a high degree of accuracy and accountability in the program.
• Builds strong positive communication with physicians and works as a team to enhance the success of the practice.
• Develops strong inter-department teamwork to meet the needs of the patients and physicians and drive decision-making and other actions.
• Maintains records of material used for each case
• Train new technicians in St Hope Protocol
• Builds and repairs dental appliances
• Fabricates crowns and bridges, full and partial dentures, dental implants, mouthguards, orthodontics, and other dental appliances.
• Uses common dental lab tools, including porcelain ovens and furnaces, pinning equipment, and lathes.
• Uses common computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software.
• Follows standard laboratory safety protocols, operating procedures (SOPs) and prescriptions.
• Adheres to lab processes and procedures and industry standards.
• Identifies and implements opportunities to build employee morale and individual motivation.
• Plans, evaluates, recommends and implements new initiatives when appropriate.
• Monitors, coaches, develop and evaluate performance of staff on an ongoing basis in accordance with applicable performance standards.
• Responsible for assuring customer/patient service needs are met.
• Coordinates cleanliness, orderliness and safety of working environment.
• Perform miscellaneous job-related task as assigned
  

Education and/or Experience and Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree preferred
• 3 years of management experience working in a dental laboratory setting.
• Good computer skills - keyboarding
• Highly organized and have the ability to work with frequent interruptions
• Excellent communication skills

Licensures/Certifications:

• Certifications and/or trainings in customer service management

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk working at a computer.
• Able to lift up to 35 pounds occasionally without assistance.
• Able to travel as needed.
