The Housing Manager is responsible for coordinating, managing, and monitoring the Shepherd housing program for families and day program patients. This position works to support the highest possible sanitary standards and good public relations by creating a clean, attractive, and safe environment. The Housing Manager emphasizes the importance of positive public relations and conducts such while performing assigned duties. Through this role, the Housing Manager continually seeks ways to improve the appearance of the apartments and housing facility. In addition, the Housing Manager has oversight of the Phone Operators and assists with Patient Experience.
Job Responsibilities: - The Housing Manager manages all interaction with guests as to apartment assignment and housing rules, scheduling, tracking length of stay, inventory control and purchasing, maintenance coordination, supervision of environmental and transportation staff related to housing.
- Arranges for maintenance and repairs as necessary.
- Maintains sufficient cleaning supplies and smallware's for apartments.
- Arranges for durable medical equipment in Day Program patient's apartments.
- Orders apartment furniture as needed.
- Coordinates check-in and check-out from housing.
- Develops annual department operating budget and capital equipment requests.
- Coordinates scheduling of staff and signs off on time sheets.
- Coordinates holiday decorations for housing and keeps security area with proper decorations.
- Manages telephone operator staff and related processes.
- Maintains list of current Shepherd owned vehicles and arranges for annual tag renewal
- Visits inpatients and their families about Patient Experience.
- Collects, compiles and organizes data related to Patient Satisfaction, oversees facility service related to signage and office furniture replacement and moves.
- Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with Center and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.
- Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process.
Required Minimum Education - High school diploma or equivalent required. Higher level degree such as Associates or Bachelors preferred.
Required Minimum Certification - No professional certifications required.
Required Minimum Experience - Two years in hospitality industry interacting with customers. Prefer at least two years of supervisory experience.
Required Minimum Skills - Moderate to expert computer skills.
- Strong communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- High degree of judgement and independent decision-making.
- Ability to plan, manage and evaluate multiple priorities. Proven ability to adhere to deadlines.
- Willingly adapts to changing work demands and work environment.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience working in a hospital setting.
Physical Demands Working Conditions - Normal office environment.
