Job Description: As a Solar Plant Electrician at United Trades of America, you will play a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems for solar power plants. From wiring solar panels to configuring inverters and transformers, your expertise in electrical work will help drive the success of our renewable energy projects.
Responsibilities: - Solar Panel Installation: Install and wire solar panels, mounting hardware, and associated electrical components according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Electrical Wiring: Connect solar panels to inverters, transformers, and other electrical equipment, ensuring proper routing and termination of cables to maximize system efficiency and performance.
- Inverter and Transformer Installation: Mount and wire inverters, transformers, and other power conversion equipment, following manufacturer guidelines and safety protocols.
- Electrical Testing: Conduct electrical tests and measurements, such as insulation resistance tests, continuity checks, and voltage measurements, to verify the integrity and functionality of electrical systems.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues, including faults, shorts, and malfunctions, and implement corrective actions to restore system operation.
- Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning solar panels, inspecting electrical connections, and tightening fasteners, to ensure the ongoing reliability and performance of solar power systems.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and your colleagues. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe work practices at all times.
Requirements: - Electrical Experience: Proven experience as an Electrician, with a focus on commercial or industrial electrical systems. Experience in solar or renewable energy projects is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of electrical principles, practices, and codes, with the ability to interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
- Certifications: Preferred certification as a Journeyman Electrician or equivalent, demonstrating proficiency in electrical work. Additional certifications in solar PV installation or maintenance are advantageous.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy equipment, working at heights, and standing for extended periods.
- Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail and a commitment to precision and accuracy in electrical installations and troubleshooting.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team to achieve project goals.
