Provide state and local tax services to multi-state clients in a range of industries. Review multi-state and local tax returns. Research state and local tax compliance issues. Calculate tax withholding, apportionment, and allocations for clients, including partnerships. Prepare clients for discussions with tax auditors. Represent clients at tax hearings and appeal meetings. Review and analyze income and balance sheet items related to state and local tax. Research and draft technical memoranda regarding income and franchise tax questions. Demonstrate in-depth tax accounting knowledge. Establish and maintain client relationships and professional networks.
WORK SCHEDULE: 40 hours per week, M-F (9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.)
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Must have a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Economics, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field, and 2 years of related work experience; OR a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Economics, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field, and 5 years of post-bachelor's, progressive related work experience.
Of the required experience, must have 2 years of experience with the following: Preparing and reviewing state and local tax returns; Providing multi-state tax compliance services; Analyzing and calculating partnership state tax withholding; and Reporting partnership apportionment and state tax allocations.
Travel to various locations throughout the US is required up to 20%.
