Support MU Health's strategic priorities and growth initiatives through the development and execution of comprehensive strategic marketing plans. This position manages marketing activities associated with products and services within the system and its entities, including market planning, prioritizing market segments and developing marketing plans for key products/services; market development via advertising, direct marketing, product/service promotions, sponsorships and community events; and market measurement, determining the success or failure of plans and promotions.
SALARY RANGE $52,666 - $83,179

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Regularly communicate with School of Medicine department chairs and administrators as well as MUHC executive directors or other key stakeholders to understand service line growth goals and priorities. Strategically develop and implement marketing plans and campaigns within the context of meeting operational, financial and strategic objectives of the academic or clinical unit, exercising independent judgment and creativity.
Work in conjunction with advertising and media agency of record to establish campaign goals, define target audiences, identify the most appropriate channels to reach the target audiences, and an effective and efficient media placement strategy.
Assist the manager of marketing strategy in the development and management of the overall system marketing budget. Develop and manage, including monthly tracking and reporting of, assigned service line marketing budgets.
Utilize market data to develop strategy and prioritize market segments (geographic and/or demographic). Stay current on overall marketing trends as well as strengths, competitive threats and regional/national trends related to assigned service lines.
Serve as lead for service line triad (one representative each from marketing, communications and public relations), promoting a comprehensive, multichannel approach to marketing and communications. Employ project management techniques to achieve project completion on schedule and on budget.
Represent MUHC with external organizations and community leaders. Provide advertising and marketing support for high-visibility special events and community outreach projects (e.g. open houses, sponsorships, health fairs, community and physician events, educational programs, screenings, etc.).
May complete unit/department specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents.
Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, marketing or a related field.
Three (3) years of experience in marketing, public relations/communications or related field.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree.
Experience in healthcare, hospitality or service sectors.
Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
